SUPA MAP Funding

SUPA is proud to offer its member’s access to the Sask Sport Membership Assistance Program (MAP). MAP provides all SUPA members in good standing that have an ultimate specific bank account to apply for aid to help develop the sport of ultimate in Saskatchewan. Eligible projects include:

  •       Player development camps or clinics
  •       Coaching and Officials clinics
  •       Establishing new leagues
  •       Hosting provincial championships
  •       Targeting group initiatives

Eligible expenditures within the projects can include:

  •       Facility or Field rental costs
  •       Observers cost
  •       Ultimate equipment: discs, cones, rules books, instructional aids
  •       Publicity and Promotion of Ultimate events
  •       Honorarium for Instructors
  •       Team uniforms

If you’re interested in learning more information, please check out our MAP Policy and ProceduresThe deadline for applications is May 31st. This program would not be possible without the support of Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture, and Recreation, whose funds are derived from the proceeds of lottery tickets in Saskatchewan.

Moose Jaw Field House – Ultimate Clinic

Moose Jaw Field House is hosting an Ultimate Clinic this Saturday, January 21, 2012. Here are the details:

The Field House is excited to announce that they will be hosting an Ultimate Frisbee Clinic put on by skilled players and volunteers from SUPA!

When: Saturday, January 21st
Where: Moose Jaw Field House Facility
Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Ages: 16yrs +
Cost: FREE!

This clinic is designed for all levels of players. We welcome all those who play the sport and those who are interested in learning more about the game.
There is limited space available so please contact the Moose Jaw Field House @ 694-4560 ASAP to get your name on the list!
All you need is a pair of indoor shoes and the interest to try something new!

Moose Jaw Ultimate

I have had a few requests lately about ultimate in Moose Jaw and I am excited to announce that Moose Jaw is starting up an indoor league at the Moose Jaw Field House!

It looks like you will have to go down to the Field House to register; $500 for a team, or if you are looking to pick up on a team, it’s $50 for individual sign up. The league starts on September 30, 2011 and will run every Friday all winter*.

*I’m not really sure how long the league runs…maybe talk to the Field House to get accurate information.

AGM Board of Directors Election Results

The 2011 AGM has come and gone. We are happy to introduce the new Board of Directors:

Important!! SUPA Provincials and AGM Change Notice

Please note that there will be a number of changes to the structure of the upcoming Provincials and AGM this weekend, Saturday, July 23, 2011.

Provincials

Due to a low team turnout, the A Division will play a single game at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at James Anderson fields (they are the southern most fields on the linked map. The game will feature two Saskatoon teams – Space Monkeys vs. Ladybugs – in a match to 17.

The B Division only had one team enter, so please say hello to the 2011 SUPA B Division Champions, Parity All Stars!

Annual General Meeting

There is one change to the AGM, but it is important. The location of the AGM has been changed to 1015 Avenue G North, Saskatoon, SK. The change of venue has been noted in the attached agenda. Here are the rest of the details for the AGM:

Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game

Please take a look at the following release from Ultimate Canada:

The 2011 Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game will take place this year on June 17th/18th across Canada. This year’s game includes 27 communities across the country including all 10 provinces and 1 territory! Please support this tremendous game by signing up in your local community!

On June 18th, 2011 ultimate players from coast-to-coast will compete in the largest ultimate game ever held in Canada: the Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game. Click on the disc for a link on how to purchase an official Great Canadian Ultimate Game disc to support the game and our partner charities. Follow the score throughout the day on our Facebook event page.

The Art Hawkins Great Canadian Ultimate Game is an opportunity for ultimate players to share the spirit of ultimate and highlight the accessibility and inclusive nature of the sport with members of the public and two great charities. Player competing in the Great Canadian Ultimate Game will be working to raise funds for these charities, with players on the red team representing Ultimate Peace, while players on the white team representing the Boys & Girls Club.
