Volunteers Needed for Prince Albert Clinic!

The Saskatchewan Ultimate Players Association is looking for two or three…or four…volunteers to head out to Prince Albert on Saturday, October 20th to help run a learn to play clinic. Please message me if you are interested in helping folks in Prince Albert learn to play ultimate better. Here are the details:

What: Learn to Play Ultimate Clinic
When: Saturday, October 20th 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Where: Alfred Jenkins Field House, 2787 10th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK

SUPA Speaking at the SPEA Conference

If you are attending the Saskatchewan Physical Education Association (SPEA) conference this week, why not check out one of two presentations put on by SUPA? It doesn’t matter if you are new to the sport, we’ll teach you all you need to know.

Here is the information on the talks we’ll be giving:

Session 501 – Ultimate: Sport For Life Room: PAC Gym 1 9:00am – 10:00am
Presenters: Ryan Cey — Curriculum Goal: Active Living — Audience: 6-12
• The sport of ultimate instills and reinforces the values of an active healthy lifestyle. From the fundamental basics of movement, to the strategy and mental competency that team sport develops, ultimate offers physical educators the opportunity to teach youth a sport that focuses on the spirit of the game and sportsmanship. Ultimate promotes inclusion and this session will look at some key elements of the sport.

Session 704 – Ultimate Frisbee for “Wanna Be Experts” Room: Ed Playroom/Field 11:30am – 12:30pm
Presenters: Ryan Cey — Curriculum Goal: Active Living — Audience: K-12

Moose Jaw Field House – Ultimate Clinic

Moose Jaw Field House is hosting an Ultimate Clinic this Saturday, January 21, 2012. Here are the details:

The Field House is excited to announce that they will be hosting an Ultimate Frisbee Clinic put on by skilled players and volunteers from SUPA!

When: Saturday, January 21st
Where: Moose Jaw Field House Facility
Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Ages: 16yrs +
Cost: FREE!

This clinic is designed for all levels of players. We welcome all those who play the sport and those who are interested in learning more about the game.
There is limited space available so please contact the Moose Jaw Field House @ 694-4560 ASAP to get your name on the list!
All you need is a pair of indoor shoes and the interest to try something new!

NCCP Coaching Program

SUPA, in conjunction with SUDS and RUFDC, are happy to announce that we are putting on two National Certified Coaching Program (NCCP): Part A – Introduction to Competition clinics on the weekend of May 6 & 7 in Saskatoon and the weekend of May 13 & 14 in Regina. We are accepting 8 – 10 registrants for each program. Upon completion of the course, you will receive an NCCP number and once Ultimate Canada finishes developing their ultimate specific NCCP program, you will be one step closer to being ready to take it!

The program dates and times for each city are:

When: Friday, May 6, 6pm – 9pm and Saturday, May 7, 8am – 6pm*
Where: U of S Kinesiology building PAC Room 232
Cost: $25/person for the cost of the learning resources.
